What can we do about the mice above the ceiling?
Question: We Live in a townhouse approx. 30 years old. Our basement is finished with JYP rock tiles on the ceiling, and we can hear at times (especially at night) mice scurrying above. What can we do?
Answer: Sounds like you may be correct and have mice running around the ceiling of your home. The first order of business is to find out how and where they are getting into your home. They are coming in more than likely looking for shelter. Mice do not need much room to get inside, about the size of a dime is enough. They can be running around your ceiling gnawing and could possibly gnaw on electric and phone wiring which could be a real problem. They can also carry ectoparasites, such as fleas, and spread disease. Mice are incontinent, which means that while they are running around your ceiling they are also urinating and defecating frequently.
