What beetle looks like a small crab?

Question: We have a bug/beetle that looks like a small sand crab and can fly. I was wondering what that is? I don’t know where they are coming from, but I do see them inside and outside of our house.

ANSWER: What you have may be a pseudo scorpion. A bad name for this animal, since it has no relation to scorpions! Pseudo scorpions are predators on mites and small insects. They will not bite people or pets. They live in wooded areas and they are usually brought into house on the fur of pets or the pant cuffs of people who have been in the woods.
