Question: How do you exterminate for carpenter bees? Can you get rid of the bees and what is the cost? Do you have a guarantee?
ANSWER: These bees are not easily controlled, and whatever is done this year will probably have to be repeated next year. The best control is to place some liquid in or around the hole. Dust insecticide can be effective if placed at the nest opening so the bees will contact it when they move in and out. You can also place a mothball in the hole. In the fall plug the holes with caulking or a dowel.
The local Orkin Branch office can provide the information on costs.
