Question: I live in a high-humidity area (southeast Arkansas) and want to know if adding a high performance vapor barrier in the crawlspace area will help ward off termites? Is that the sort of thing a termite and pest control tech could install? Thanks.

ANSWER   Vapor barriers are always valuable in limiting the moisture in wood above crawl spaces. Vapor barriers  can help prevent several problems, however these barriers will not prevent termites.
