ANSWER In general, pest control can not help much with dust mites. They are difficult to control and almost impossible to eliminate in a house (and there are few if any insecticides actually labeled for these pests). The best strategy is one of decreasing the carpeting and upholstered furniture in a house, using a mattress cover, and securing a high grade (hepa-filter) vacuum cleaner. Your Dad's doctor may have some other suggestions.
