Summer is peak pest season, and some pests can do more than ruin your picnic or barbeque. Bees and wasps or fire ants and scorpions can bite or sting, causing pain or more serious allergic reactions for some people. Other insects like mosquitoes and ticks can transmit harmful diseases like West Nile virus or Lyme disease, respectively, to you and your family members.
While there may be no such thing as a bug-free summer, there are simple steps homeowners can take themselves — in addition to partnering with a professional — to reduce pest populations and summer pest threats.
