ANSWER Squirrels are difficult to control, whether inside or outside the house.
Squirrel-proofing requires a thorough inspection. Since they are active during the day, it may be necessary to watch them for some time to find out what their habits are. Sometimes it is necessary to inspect in the morning and again in the evening.
Once their openings are found, it is a matter of waiting until they are outside, then sealing up the openings. All of the openings will have to be sealed so they don't just switch to a new one.
When they get into attics it may be necessary to live trap them, and this is not always easy. Traps may be available from the local wildlife officials. Be careful when handling squirrels that have been captured-they bite. Many people prefer to contact a professional pest control operator that has experience in small animal control.
