Question: What can be done for fleas in the house? Foggers haven't worked.
ANSWER Household flea control begins with treating the animal, then treating the house. Both steps have to be done and they have to be done together, or at least the pet should be the first treated.
Pet. There are some very effective on-animal flea control products, either from the veterinarian or one of the over-the-counter products. The pet or pets must be treated first before you can hope to rid the house (carpeting) of fleas. Be sure to wash or replace the pet bedding at the same time.
House. Vacuuming the carpet can only help to remove the eggs that drop there from the fleas on the pet, and maybe a few larvae. Vacuuming will make the adult fleas come out of their cocoons so the carpet treatment will be more effective. Continue to vacuum for several days after the treatment. Treat the carpet with a product that is designed for that purpose. (The rong product might damage the carpet.) Read the label to see whether it says carpet treatment.
