Orkin’s Gold Medal Protection Service Helps “Improve Environmental Management and Performance"

ATLANTA, Oct. 30, 2005 – Atlanta-based pest control company Orkin, Inc. has been recognized by Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) with a listing on the organization’s Products and Services Directory. H2E bills the online resource as a “searchable directory promoting the greening of the health care sector.” It provides health care providers with a list of businesses that supply products and services consistent with H2E's mission to help improve environmental management and performance at health care facilities.

Orkin consulted with H2E and its sister organization, Health Care Without Harm, to aid in the development of a “green” pest control program Orkin introduced earlier this year called Gold Medal Protection for Health Care. The collaborative effort resulted in an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program emphasizing non-chemical controls and boasting a comprehensive documentation system that prepares hospitals for reviews by facility administration, public health inspectors and health care accreditation boards.
