Training and Certification

Orkin's training program is unique in the industry. No other company requires more comprehensive preparation for its technicians.

Each Orkin Commercial Specialist is a skilled service technician who undergoes training that includes:

• Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), protocols for various industries, and federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
• Treatment techniques that conform to American Institute of Baking standards, assuring the most effective pest control program available.
• Formal accredited class work from Purdue University.

Because former Board Chairman Randall Rollins realized long ago that training should set Orkin apart in the pest management industry, Orkin's training goes beyond the classroom. Orkin made a company-defining investment in its employees by building the Orkin University and Training Center. The $3-million Atlanta facility includes classrooms, cutaway walls and examples of all common building techniques to provide trainees with first-hand knowledge of what they could expect to find across the country. Orkin's Commercial Technicians also face "real life" scenarios in Orkin's Training Center, a 13,000-square-foot space that includes a model restaurant kitchen, hospital room, hotel room, supermarket layout and warehouse space. Orkin is the only company in the industry to boast such a facility.
