Crab Spider Diseases
Crab spiders, Family Thomisidae, are named for their close resemblance to crabs. The front legs of crab spiders are longest and many crab spiders move sideways rather than backwards and forwards. Their bodies are also flat like the crab.
Crab spiders are best known for their unique ability to blend in with their surroundings. Some species change colors and some exhibit markings that resemble specific plants. Some species appear like blades of grass, while others may blend in with the bark of trees.
No known crab spider diseases exist. Although crab spiders are venomous spiders, their bite is considered harmless to humans. However, some individuals may experience allergic reactions to the venom of any spider. In the event of severe symptoms, medical attention should be sought.
