Daring Jumping Spider
Like other jumping spiders, daring jumping spiders are named for their tendency to stalk and leap upon prey. These spiders do not spin webs and instead use silk threads to line their burrows and to break their fall when attempting particularly dangerous jumps.
Daring jumping spiders are known for their mouthparts, known as chelicerae, which are iridescent green in color. They also possess impressive vision, with eight eyes capable of peripheral vision. Daring jumping spiders are some of the largest jumping spiders. Their bodies are relatively hairy and are black in color, with gray and white streaks along the abdomen.
The daring jumping spider is one of the most common species found in North America. These arachnids are also distributed throughout the islands of Hawaii, the Nicobar Islands and several parts of Central America.
