Rat Zapper

Rat zappers appear to be traditional bait stations. They also attract rats in the traditional manner: food bait draws the rat toward the zapper. After the rat has entered the zapper, it is administered a lethal dose of electricity. When the zapper has captured and killed a rat, the entire unit must be thrown away. Rat zappers are single-use units.

Rat zappers are preferred over poison by some, as they leave no mess and are not dangerous for humans. However, rat zappers address only individual specimens and are not effective in eradicating infestations. Furthermore, some individuals consider the rat zapper to be an inhumane method of combating rat populations.
