New Termite Treatments

If termite treatment is done improperly first attempts to exterminate termite infestations will probably fail.  Not only will the original colony persists but other colonies may invade a structure as well. New termite treatments are constantly being tested and implemented.

One such new treatment involves the use of microwaves to heat and kill insects residing within the walls of a structure. This non-chemical procedure leaves zero residues, is less ecologically damaging and could be preferred by families with house pets and small children. Furthermore, insects treated through microwave heat die within walls, so no clean up is necessary.

However, general heat treatments are site-specific and rely heavily on accuracy and targeting. Should the treatment not reach a small section of a termite colony, the infestation may continue to thrive within the structure. The heat administered through this method may also cause structural damage if administered incorrectly. For these reasons, the heat extermination method should only be practiced by trained professionals.
