Termite Backhoe
Subterranean termites make their colonies within loose soil beneath or surrounding a home. These termites construct tunnels from mud, feces and saliva in order to access aboveground food sources. The presence of these cylindrical tunnels near the foundation of a home is often a first sign of infestation.
One method of addressing the early stages of a subterranean termite infestation is the use of a termite backhoe. These small tools are used to dig into and destroy subterranean termite nests. Although it may appear a simple method of treatment, homeowners should not attempt to use termite backhoes without the assistance of pest control professionals. Gas and pipelines may be compromised or damaged by inexperienced operators.
