Orkin Pro Named PCT Magazine’s Termite Pro of the Year

Pest Control Technology Magazine selected Orkin termite Pro Rick Gaudreault as its 2011 Termite Pro of the Year. PCT will profile Gaudreault in an upcoming issue of the magazine, and he will be honored during a special ceremony at the National Pest Management Association’s Legislative Day at the end of February in Washington, D.C.

Gaudreault, of the Collinsville, Ill. Branch, transitioned from working at a furniture factory into pest control. “I was attracted to the job because I saw it as an opportunity to work directly with people and problem solve for them,” said Gaudreault. “The best part of my job is providing customers with the peace of mind that their pest problem is gone and their home is protected.”

Gaudreault has worked as a termite Pro for the last seven of his 12 years in the pest control industry and has recently taken his experience to the sales team. Klete Boehne, Orkin service manager, said Gaudreault’s experience, technical knowledge and customer service skills will make him a natural fit. “It doesn’t matter what part of the business Rick works in,” said Boehne. “He’ll be successful because of his unparalleled attitude, work ethic and his sincere interest in helping others.”

For the past 15 years, the Pro of the Year awards have recognized three standout service professionals in the residential, commercial and termite categories. Managers/owners were asked to evaluate service Pros in several areas including: technical skills; communication skills; service to company/community; and their mentoring role within the company. A panel of pest control industry professionals reviewed each candidate’s credentials and selected the winners.
