The Chilean Rose Tarantula's Habitat
Chilean rose tarantulas reside in hot, dry climates and are found most commonly in Bolivia, Peru and Chile. Desert areas are particularly attractive to this species, as are scrub forests. Some rose tarantula species may also be seen in North America.
Tarantulas are extremely adaptable and can withstand very hot environments. They thrive in areas with little to no rainfall and may also survive cold weather, including periods of light frost. Unlike other tarantulas, Chilean rose tarantulas do not require burrows. Rather, they dwell above ground and are sometimes observed perching.
