What is biting me?

Question: I am being bitten in my bed, but my bed shows no signs of bed bugs or any other pests. The bites are itchy and look similar to hives but larger in size. What could be biting me?

Answer: Well, it is difficult to know what is doing the biting without performing a home inspection, but there are three possibilities.

  • Spiders will bite, but this is not likely spider bites. Fleas will bite and leave the reaction you describe.

  • If you have a pet in the house, there is a possibility that it has fleas.

  • Bed bugs will also bite and leave this reaction. They are difficult to find in the bed frame. You’ll need to consider either bed bugs or fleas. Call us today to schedule a home inspection.

Your local Orkin Specialist will inspect your home and identify the species. Depending on the species and severity of the infestation, he or she will create a customized pest management plan based in science for your home.
